The Good The game itself was pretty good. It was a game of two halves. The first half was a defensive game (or an offensive struggle). The second half was the complete opposite with most of the offensive production taking place in the second half.Penn St WR Allen Robinson who sat out the first half of the game for reasons Penn State Coach Bill O’Brien wouldn’t comment on, was the player of the game finishing with seven receptions for 133 YDS and a TD. Robinson, by far, was the best player on the field.A year ago this weekend I wrote the same story for the Penn St Ohio game which Penn St lost mostly, in part, to three missed FG’s by K Sam Ficken. Ficken redeemed himself Saturday making all three FG’s (36, 35 and 46 YDS) attempted. It’s good to see he has his confidence back. The BadBoth teams couldn’t get the running game going at all. Penn St finished with 57 rushing YDS on 38 attempts. Syracuse fared no better finishing with 71 rushing yards on 37 attempts. You can credit both defe...
