TCU smacked Baylor 49-21 in Waco on Saturday night. TCU was the clear underdog but came out with a dominating performance on defense and a surprising performance on offense.Baylor had gained 500 yards in the last 10 games and scored more than 30 in 11 straight. Today uncharacteristic mistakes and forced turnovers ended those two streaks. Baylor also had a positive turnover differential coming into the game before giving up 6 turnovers and forcing none. The Good: Trevone Boykin After Casey Pachall was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and checked into rehab the TCU Horned Frogs had a huge question mark at quarterback.  Boykin may have erased some of those questions after an amazing performance against the Bears in Waco. The redshirt freshman from Mesquite Texas moved the ball well and made no mistakes in a hostile environment. His four touchdowns were more than enough to put the Bears down and have TCU dreaming of a Big 12 title. The Bad: Baylor’s DefenseA week after giving up 807 yards to West Virginia the Bears defense gave up 508 to a freshman quarterback making only his second start. Baylor has won all its games in shootout fashion and when their offense is unable to get going, like it did today, it doesn’t make for a pretty game. Baylor still has to face Landry Jones, Collin Klein, and Seth Doege. All three of those quarterbacks are leaps and bounds better than Boykin so expect more yards and points to come. The Ugly: Nick Florence The heir of Robert Griffin had done well in trying to fill a Heisman winner’s shoes. Before the start of tonight’s game Florence had 14 touchdowns and one pick. Once the dust settled at Floyd Casey Stadium Florence had thrown 2 touchdowns and four picks. Baylor’s defense isn’t going to make consistent stops anytime soon, and the only chance the Bears have at winning rests on their ability to put up points. Florence had a horrible game, could not convert on third downs, and made too many mistakes to give Baylor any hope of winning this game.
