Photo courtesy of Star-Telegram/Ron Jenkins After starting TCU quarterback Casey Pachall returned to the team from a rehabilitation clinic last spring, fans of the Horned Frogs were hoping for an incredible comeback story of the ages.  That story just got a lot harder. Pachall injured his non-throwing arm in TCU’s 38-17 win over FCS opponent Southeastern Louisiana Saturday afternoon. Head coach Gary Patterson confirmed Pachall would miss at least next week’s game against Texas Tech at the post-game press conference. “He won’t play next week,” head coach Gary Patterson said.  Pachall left the game after a quarterback scramble turned into a sideline hit in the second quarter with the score tied at 14-14. TCU, at that point, was struggling to move the ball with Pachall under center.  Here’s my pachall live update @davidubben @FollowtheFrogs @AlexAppleDFW pic.twitter.com/N0fYqlBYT6 — Stephen Levy (@steve_lev) September 7, 2013 According to Stefan Stevenson, TCU beat writer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Pachall had surgery earlier today and will miss multiple games. He will miss multiple games. — Stefan Stevenson (@FollowtheFrogs) September 8, 2013 Trevone Boykin, the sophomore back-up quarterback who started several games last year, was used at receiver for most of the first half and then went on to lead the Frogs to 28 unanswered points, including two touchdown passes.  “He’s a 225 guy that runs a 4.5,” Patterson said.  Fans have been encouraged by Boykin’s play as of late but are obviously upset over the loss of Pachall. The senior from Brownwood, Texas, was hoping for an incredible story but struggled to get into a rhythm in the last two games before getting injured. Now, we don’t know when or if we’ll ever see Pachall under center again for the Frogs. “I don’t know if he’ll be back,” Patterson said. “I really feel bad for him if [the injury is serious].” Either way, TCU will have to look forward to Thursday night when they head to Lubbock, Texas, to take on the Red Raiders. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
