On Saturday afternoon, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will head back to where it all started. Nearly two years ago to the exact day is when the Bridgewater legacy all began.
As a true freshman in his third career game, Bridgewater was thrown to the wolves on the road in a rivalry game after starting quarterback Will Stein went down in the first quarter with a shoulder injury. Here we are, two years later and Teddy Bridgewater is the favorite to win the 2013 Heisman Trophy.
I’m sure most have forgotten at this point, but Bridgewater’s career didn’t get off to the best of starts. In the season opener of his freshman year against Murray State, Teddy came in for one series and threw just one pass that was intercepted. In the second game, Bridgewater completed two-of-two passes, but didn’t see a lot of action in Cardinals disappointing loss to FIU.
