Heading into the Valero Alamo Bowl, many thought Oregon State was on the rise, while Texas was on the decline.  After watching what happened Saturday, it might be visa versa.  Playing in front of their home state, the Texas Longhorns rallied back from two different 10-point deficits in the second half to beat Oregon State, 31-27.  The Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas was the venue.  As you can imagine, UT players saw plenty of burnt orange in the stands en route to a victory. In this article, I'll tell you three things we learned from this game.Topics include:What's to make of Oregon State? Is David Ash legit? Will Mack Brown be fired?

Alamo Bowl: Did David Ash Save Mack Brown’s Job With Texas Longhorns Win?

For the first three quarters of the 2012 Alamo Bowl, the Texas Longhorns appeared to be nothing more than a sluggish team who played as if they were extremely poorly coached. Texas showed no creativity on offense, very little ability on defense and looked as if they would once again finish the college football season on a down note. And then, David Ash did the improbable. In a huge...

Case McCoy Was Allegedly At A Bar Thursday Night, According To UT Fan’ss Tweets

If you believe UT fans who were in San Antonio Thursday night partying along the Riverwalk, Case McCoy was one of those who bellied up to a bar to celebrate the season. UT fan @morganlozano sorta gives us a play-by-play of her crew’s interaction with McCoy. We now know that McCoy and Jordan Hicks were sent home Friday by Mack Brown for breaking curfew. We also know that a 21-year...

#23 Texas vs. #13 Oregon State, Alamo Bowl: 5 Reasons To Watch

For some, not every bowl game is worth watching.  But for most of the state of Texas, and and a small part of northwest Oregon, this one is big.  #13 Oregon State will take on #23 Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl.  Mack Brown, coach of the Longhorns since 1998, might be on the hot seat.  Since losing the National Championship to Alabama in 2009, Brown's club has gone just 21...

Texas 31, Oregon State 27: Mack Brown can rest for at least one night after Longhorns wild win

Art Briles was asked a peculiar question following Baylor's Holiday Bowl win on Thursday night, when one reporter wanted to know what his interest level was in the Texas head coaching job...You know, assuming it came open in the off-season. Now to Briles’ credit, the Baylor coach handled the situation about as well as anyone could (by literally giggling at the mere idea...

Saturday’s Previews: Armed Forces, Pinstripe, Hunger, Alamo, and Wild Wings Bowls

Saturday is an important day for the Pac-12 and Big XII conferences as well as the armed forces teams. Three of the nine Big XII teams are in action against three different conferences which should give them an opportunity to improve on their 2-0 record thus far in the post season. The Pac-12 has had a rough time in the early bowl games with Arizona escaping against Nevada with two...

Today’s Bowl Picks – Happy New Year

Today’s Bowl Picks – Happy New YearReports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. After a slow start on Saturday, I was excited to see Oregon State leading Texas by 10 for most of the game. Somehow, Mack Brown and his staff dominated Mike Riley in the fourth quarter. UT QB David Ash played out of his mind and Riley inexplicably refused to pull Cody Vaz. I was now 1-3 on...
