Texas receiver White leaving Longhorns

Former Fort Worth Dunbar standout Darius White has decided to transfer from Texas. White, a wide receiver, hasn't decided where he's transferring after two seasons with the Longhorns. He was given his unconditional release and will not travel with the Longhorns to the Holiday Bowl. White said in a statement that after talking with his family he decided he needed a new start. White played in 20 games for the Longhorns over two seasons, catching six passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. He was a Parade All-America at Dunbar and was a member of the USA Today first team. "We never like to see anyone leave, but at the same time we understand Darius' desire for a fresh start," Texas head coach Mack Brown said. "We appreciate everything Darius contributed while he was here and wish him the best of luck as he moves forward."
