The Oregon Ducks are 6-0, ranked number two in the country and are leaving scorched earth in their wake. Last week’s 52-21 win over hated rival Washington marked the ninth consecutive win over the once formidable Huskies and brought Oregon’s 2012 average winning margin to just over 32 points per game. During Chip Kelly’s tenure, the Ducks are 28-2 in the Pac-12 Conference, 40-6 overall, and have an average win margin of nearly 30 points. How are you supposed to beat these guys? Only 6 teams have done it over a three-and-a-half-year period and I figured it was about time to investigate those losses, and see if any of them hold the key to cracking the Chip Kelly code. Seriously, that’s not a misprint. 40-6 over a three-and-a-half-year period with 2 of those losses coming in BCS bowl games. One to 8th ranked Ohio State, and the other to eventual national champion Auburn in the BCS title game. The others? At Boise State and Stanford in 2009, a neutral site game against a top-3 ...
