After nearly 24 hours of Bob Pelini not knowing where he stood with his bosses, Nebraska released a statement basically saying they’re done with this whole ordeal and they’re moving on. Nebraska released a statement on Wednesday acknowledging their concern about Pelini’s comments and that the comments were “unfair” to Nebraska fans. But the statement also wanted to make clear that the comments were addressed by former AD Tom Osbourne in 2011 more than a year ago and the university is prepared to put the matter to rest. Here is the full statement from Big Red Report: “The comments made by Head Football Coach Bo Pelini in 2011, published Monday, are unfortunate and deeply concerning to us, as they would be to anyone who loves this university. Our coaches, staff and student-athletes must be held to a high standard and Coach Pelini’s remarks were unfair to the legions of Nebraska fans and not what we expect from a representative of this university.
