In his three years at Louisville, Charlie Strong has taken the football program to a level that it’s never been before. One of the main reasons Strong’s been able to have so much success over the past three seasons is recruiting. Strong has been able to bring players that are not only talented, but ready to play right away.
With Louisville football on the rise nationally, there are plenty of high level recruits that are now considering Charlie Strong’s program. Unfortunately, one of the top in state recruits in the 2014 class doesn’t appear to be too high on Louisville anymore.
Matt Elam, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound, defensive tackle from John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown has been one of Louisville’s top in state targets for the last few months. He also holds offers from Alabama, Kentucky, Florida and Tennessee among others. Scout.com rates Elam as a four star prospect and he’s considered to be one of the top 20 defensive tackles in the country.
