Mark Berman KRIV-TV HOUSTON - Mike Davis, who led Indiana to the Final Four in 2002 and was named Conference USA Coach of the Year at UAB after the 2010-2011 season, has agreed to become the interim coach at Texas Southern. The TSU job opened last month when Tony Harvey resigned for personal reasons. "It's a great opportunity for me to get back into coaching," Davis said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "I've researched Texas Southern's program. "I thing Harvey left some real good players there. They had a good program and it's one of the better jobs in the (SWAC) conference, and I'm excited to get back working and teaching." TSU athletics director Charles McClelland has not been available for comment. Davis' final season at UAB was not an easy one for him, personally or professionally.
