Fox Sports Detroit:
If Taylor Lewan's college career is indeed over, he's going out with a bang.
Michigan's star offensive tackle added another award to his growing collection Tuesday when he was named a first-team All-America by the Associated Press.
The only other in-state player to make the All-America squad was Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher, who was selected to the third team.
Lewan was also a consensus pick for first-team All-Big Ten and won named the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year. Last season, as a sophomore, he was chosen second-team All-Big Ten.
Brady Hoke has acknowledged that he and his staff are advising Lewan on his decision to go pro or return to Michigan for his senior season.
"Our recommendation will be based on our due diligence, including talking to the NFL's draft committee, and will be based entirely on what is best for Taylor," Hoke said recently.
Either way, Lewan will finish this season with one of his toughest assignments of the year. He will face another first-team All-America selection, South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, in the Jan. 1 Outback Bowl.
