Although you could argue Brandon Weeden, or RG3 had the best performance out of the Maxwell Semi-Finalists this past weekend, USC QB Matt Barkley completely tore it up against Boulder on Friday. He set a new school record for most passing touchdowns in a game by a USC quarterback. That means he did what Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, or even John David Booty III could never do, and throw for 6 touchdowns in one game.
Barkley completed 25 out of his 39 passing attempts for 318 yards, and of course he threw 6 touchdowns. Two of the six went to other Maxwell Semi-Finalist Robert Woods. Barkley now has 28 touchdowns on the year, he had 25 touchdowns last season, and is currently 5 TD’s behind the FBS leader Case Keenum. The Junior QB has thrown for 2,608 yards, which already surpasses his last year total of of 2,593 yards.
Barkley is killin’ it, and looks to continue his Maxwell Campaign against Washington at home this weekend.
