Derek Carr threw for a school-record six touchdowns and Tennessee-Martin pulled away from Austin Peay for a 61-23 victory Saturday. The Skyhawks (3-2, 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 14-13 with 5:42 to go before halftime when Carr broke the game wide open with four straight TD passes. He threw three in a 2:09 span as Tennessee-Martin capitalized on two turnovers by the Governors (2-3, 2-1). Carr hit Kenny Jones with a 51-yard TD with 3:22 to go before the break. He then threw scoring passes of 13 and 16 yards to Stephen Shiver, the second with 1:13 to go for a 34-14 halftime lead. Carr also had TD throws of 15 yards to Quentin Sims, 10 yards to Jones and 9 yards to DJ McNeil. He finished 24 of 36 for 387 yards. The previous mark of five TDs was held by Charles Gamble (1994) and Leonard Williams (1990).
