AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- An attorney representing one of the two Texas football players suspended before the Alamo Bowl says a sexual assault allegation against his client is "completely false."
Perry Minton says in a written statement that linebacker Jordan Hicks "vehemently asserts" that the conduct under investigation by San Antonio police was "consensual by everyone involved."
Texas coach Mack Brown suspended two unidentified players last Friday. The suspensions followed a San Antonio television station's report that police were investigating two UT players -- also unnamed -- for alleged sexual assault.
A person with knowledge of the suspensions told The Associated Press that Hicks and quarterback Case McCoy were the players.
A police report says a 21-year-old woman accused two unnamed students of assaulting her early Friday morning at a downtown hotel.

An attorney for Texas linebacker Jordan Hicks says police will not file charges against his client after investigating a sexual assault allegation on the eve of the Alamo Bowl.
Austin attorney Perry Minton said Wednesday in a statement that San Antonio police informed him that no charges will be brought against Hicks ''or anyone else in this matter.'' Hicks and backup...
A fan ran across the field and did a Heisman pose in the end zone before disappearing into the stands during Saturday's Valero Alamo Bowl between the Texas Longhorns and Oregon State Beavers.
Based on the video, Alamodome security was apparently nowhere to be found. We would hope that this fan was caught before he left the stadium so that his actions do not encourage other...
Niki DiGuilio scored 21 points to help Central Michigan upset No. 20 Texas 73-65 in the consolation game of the Maggie Dixon Surf N Slam Classic on Sunday.
DiGuilio was 5 of 8 from 3-point range. Jessica Schroll added 14 points for Central Michigan (6-6).
Central Michigan led 30-23 at halftime. The Longhorns (7-4) cut the lead to four in the second half, but Central Michigan kept...
If you believe UT fans who were in San Antonio Thursday night partying along the Riverwalk, Case McCoy was one of those who bellied up to a bar to celebrate the season. UT fan @morganlozano sorta gives us a play-by-play of her crew’s interaction with McCoy.
We now know that McCoy and Jordan Hicks were sent home Friday by Mack Brown for breaking curfew. We also know that a 21-year...
For the first three quarters of the 2012 Alamo Bowl, the Texas Longhorns appeared to be nothing more than a sluggish team who played as if they were extremely poorly coached. Texas showed no creativity on offense, very little ability on defense and looked as if they would once again finish the college football season on a down note.
And then, David Ash did the improbable. In a huge...
Heading into the Valero Alamo Bowl, many thought Oregon State was on the rise, while Texas was on the decline. After watching what happened Saturday, it might be visa versa. Playing in front of their home state, the Texas Longhorns rallied back from two different 10-point deficits in the second half to beat Oregon State, 31-27. The Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas was the venue...
Valero Alamo Bowl
Texas Longhorns 8-5 vs Oregon State Beavers 9-3
The Texas Longhorns are heading into the Alamo Bowl without their back up quarterback Case McCoy and without linebacker Jordan Hicks, who Mack Brown referred to as a “team leader” on Friday in a press conference. Both have been suspended from the team pending an investigation into alleged sexual assault of a woman...
I’m not sure how much any of you were paying attention to the off-field drama surrounding the Alamo Bowl, but you really should have. I was forced to (pun!) since my Father-in-Law kind of looks like Mack Brown but I digress. So Texas sent injured LB Jordan Hicks and sometimes QB Case McCoy home from San Antonio for the always descriptive “violation of team rules”. Case...
