Found October 04, 2012 on Throw The Flag:
The Utah Utes and the USC Trojans are in a pretty epic battle for superiority in the Pac-12. Lane Kiffin has made some calls that he admitted he said he was “screwing around” for. The Utah Utes ran an amazing trick play down 24 to 21 but it was called back due to some referee. Everyone wants to see Silas Redd or Matt Barkley win the Heisman Trophy so there will be biased decisions. Someone should stick up for the Utah Utes. They’ve been playing well against the Southern California Trojans and deserve some credit.

Early 2013 NFL Mock Draft

We are officially a quarter of the way through the 2012 NFL Season and it’s time to start a 2013 NFL Mock Draft. Ok, so it’s early but there is a certain amount of fun that goes into making mock drafts early in the season. It’s always fun to see who is projected to be a first round pick, and who is considered late round picks. Then be able to see if those players are able to...

Barkley stripped on first play, Utah scores

Matt Barkley and the Trojans are off to a rough start. On their first play from scrimmage, the center Khaled Holmes snapped the ball between Barkley’s legs and Utah’s Nate Fakahafua was there when Barkley picked it up. Fakahafua stripped the ball from the Trojans’ quarterback and took it in for a touchdown to put the Trojans down 7 early. On their next possession after...

Robert Woods Nearly Knocked Out After Helmet-to-Helmet Contact, Only Misses One Play (Video)

Robert Woods is one of USC's top receivers, but that shouldn't excuse him from taking a legitimate concussion test after losing his balance following a play. In Thursday night's 38-28 victory over Utah, Woods was on punt coverage for the Trojans. He went to make a block on a potential tackler, and ended up getting an opponent's helmet right in his face. Woods fell...

USC 38, Utah 28: Matt Barkley and the Trojans play their best game of the season

Yes, it may have taken four weeks longer than we expected. And no, the USC Trojans aren’t “there” yet.  But for the first time in 2012, we finally saw glimpses of how good USC can be on Thursday night. In a 38-28 victory over Utah in Salt Lake City, the Trojans were the physical, fast, dominating club everyone expected in August, cruising to a 38-21 victory that was...

USC WR Robert Woods get his bell rung and finishes the game

USC has an elite pair of wide receivers in Marqise Lee and Robert Woods.  Coming into the season many figured Woods would be the go to guy, but with 52 receptions 649 yards and 7 touchdowns, Lee is clearly the go to guy now.  Woods has not had a bad year, with 31 receptions 272 yards and 5 touchdowns, but one has to wonder if Woods will be okay in the long term after this hit he...

USC's Matt Barkley Bounces Back VS Utah, Throws For 3 TD's And No Interceptions

Southern California quarterback Matt Barkley had a lot to prove Thursday night against Utah.  The stench of a stinker of a performance against Stanford has lingered.  In Salt Lake City Thursday night the Trojans found themselves down two touchdowns to open to game to the fired up Utes. Barkley didn’t make the same mistakes he did against the Cardinal nor did he...

Thursday Night Bonus VOTD

With USC and Utah set to square off tonight we get to relive their meeting last year which ushered in the Pac 12 in fashion. Trailing 17-14 with seconds left, the Utes lined up for a game-tying 41-yard field goal which was easily blocked by massive Trojans lineman Matt Kalil. Torrin Harris returned it for a TD to give the Trojans a 23-14 win, narrowly covering the five point...

In their ongoing bid to get back to where they once were, in the hunt for a top BCS bowl, the 13th-ranked Trojans will have to go where they haven't ventured in 95 years.
