Valero Alamo Bowl Texas Longhorns 8-5 vs Oregon State Beavers 9-3 The Texas Longhorns are heading into the Alamo Bowl without their back up quarterback Case McCoy and without linebacker Jordan Hicks, who Mack Brown referred to as a “team leader” on Friday in a press conference. Both have been suspended from the team pending an investigation into alleged sexual assault of a woman who occurred on Friday. Below is a snippet from the Express-News, who claims to have details from the police report. According to a police report obtained by the Express-News, the incident happened between 2 and 2:40 a.m. on Friday. The woman said she met two men at a nightclub and invited them back to her room at the Holiday Inn Riverwalk. She admitted to drinking at least four alcoholic beverages before inviting them to her room, the report said. She told police one man had sex with her while the other stood and watched, but she didn’t remember the situation in detail. The report didn’t give the woman’s version of how the situation escalated. It indicated that the suspects were both students, one of them a 6-foot, 180-pound white male and the other a 6-foot-2, 235-pound black male. There have been no arrests made yet according to San Antonio police. “No arrests have been made; (the case) is still being currently investigated,” Matthew Porter of the San Antonio police said. “There is no timetable for the investigation” to be handed over to the district attorney, he said. Texas Longhorns Overall record: 8 – 4 Conference record: 5 – 4 Finished 3rd behind Kansas State and Oklahoma. Oregon State Beavers Overall record: 9 – 3 Conference record: 6 – 3 Finished 3rd in the Pac 12 North behind Stanford and Oregon. While the Beavers have had a remarkable season, they’ll be facing the Longhorns in what is almost a home game. If the Beavers are to have any shot, they’ll need to take the fans out of the game by scoring quickly. The Longhorns will be looking to prove that they can play through the distractions brought on by the dismissal of their teammates. *** Player Swag: Apple iPad mini, Fossil watch, $100 Best Buy gift card, panoramic team photo, Schutt mini helmet.
