Since Ed Orgeron took over as USC’s interim football coach following the firing of Lane Kiffin, he has emphasized fun. Orgeron has treated his team to In-N-Out burgers, Roscoe’s chicken and waffles and brought deserts back to the training table. He has also brought in famous fans to address the team on a weekly basis. This week was no different. Friday night before the Trojans’ big showdown with the Stanford Cardinal, Orgeron and USC president Max Nikias brought in rap legend Dr. Dre to speak to the team. Of course, Dre got a huge ovation from the players. Back in May Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre donated $70 million to USC to establish the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. The program’s goal is to create a new generation of inspired innovators. Now that he has his own academy on USC’s campus, Dr. Dre considers himself part of the Trojan family. He wished the football team good luck and told them he would be in the stands watch...

WATCH: Matt Leinart leads USC onto field for Stanford game

If there’s one bright side to Matt Leinart not being on an NFL team, it’s that he’s able to support his alma mater on Saturdays. The USC Trojans took advantage of that by having their former Heisman Trophy winner lead the team onto the field before Saturday’s game against the Stanford Cardinal. Leinart was as […]

WATCH: USC makes 47-yard field goal to beat Stanford

Stanford, by virtue of its loss to Utah earlier this season, was already a long shot to have a chance at playing in the BCS National Championship Game. But after tonight’s defeat, the Cardinal are probably going to be on the outside looking in for any of the BCS bowl games. USC, which is now 5-1 since the firing of Lane Kiffin, did the unthinkable and knocked off No. 4 Stanford...

USC Football: Don’t call it an upset

Apparently good things come in fours. After four years of losing to Stanford, USC picks up its first ranked win against rank #4 Stanford— their first win against a ranked opponent since taking down fourth-ranked Oregon in Eugene in 2011. Two teams went blow for blow playing in an old school fashion like they have since 1905. Plays weren’t flashy, and yards weren’t easy. Much...

Delegating has served Orgeron, Trojans well

LOS ANGELES Former USC head coach Lane Kiffin mentioned on a national radio show early Thursday that he should have delegated more during his time with the Trojans. Delegating has been, arguably, one of the most effective tactics for interim head coach Ed Orgeron. He's let his coaches coach, intent on encouraging players on the sideline during games. It's allowed coaches...

Orgeron proving he's more than just a quick fix

LOS ANGELES So much in the Coliseum on Saturday night was predicated on a chance. For interim head coach Ed Orgeron, his was the chance to prove he could lead a team to victory over a top-5 opponent and he wasn't just a quick fix to a bad situation. For the USC Trojans it was snapping a four-game losing streak to No. 4 Stanford. For Andre Heidari, it was a chance at redemption...

Andre Heidari kicks 47-yard field goal to beat Stanford (Video)

Andre Heidari redeemed himself in the biggest way possible by nailing a 47-yard field goal with 19 seconds left to help the USC Trojans beat the Stanford Cardinal 20-17 at the Coliseum on Saturday night. Heidari missed an extra point following the Trojans’ first touchdown, meaning Stanford only needed a field goal to tie the […]

GIF: Impressive second effort gives Tyler Gaffney 35-yd TD run against USC

Tweet   Since Ed Orgeron took over for Lane Kiffin as head coach of USC the Trojans have won four of five games. To make it five out of six the Trojans will have to take down No. 4 Stanford.   If USC is going to improve to 8-3 they’ll have to neutralize one of the stingier defenses in the Pac-12. They will also be facing Tyler Gaffney, who came...

Breske's Last Stand? (Arizona Game Pick)

Hello Followers.  Hope you’ve had a great week. As for me, well, time is and has been very short.  So, let's get right to it, shjall we? As many of you know, I was a pretty big fan of Paul Wulff.   And as you also know, even though I was pretty peeved when he got fired, I was pretty darn excited a few days later about the hiring of Mike Leach. And honestly,...
