PLAYERS: Les Miles
TEAMS: LSU TigersFlorida Gators
Les Miles watched his LSU team win a hard-fought battle this afternoon against the Florida Gators, but he still found a way to be upset afterward. In the postgame presser, Miles was asked how he felt about this win compared to last year’s matchup (No. 4 LSU was upset 14-6) and specifically if it felt better to be “the hammer.” While the question was a rather innocent one, it set Miles off on a bit of a rant in which he questioned why it always has to be ‘hammer and nail’ instead of simply two tough teams fighting in a good game. Here’s part of the rather colorful rant: Here’s a transcript of Miles’ response, courtesy of Cody Worsham: “I got a question for you. It was a 14-6 game. We played our ass off. And how anybody could pick a hammer and the nail, when in fact that hammer or that nail or whatever in the hell you’ve got picked…We catch a ball down there, we take the lead, we turn it over, I mean, explain to me how Kevin Minter, who sets damn near the career tackle record in tha...

'That Just Happened' in this week of college football

Mad Hatter gone wild: LSU coach Les Miles didn't take too kindly to a question about the roles of the hammer and the nail in the Tigers' rivalry with Florida. Down goes Johnny, up goes Johnny: Everyone in Oxford and College...

Les Miles goes off on reporter following win against Florida

After the LSU Tigers battled to a 17-6 victory over the Florida Gators, Les Miles held his post game press conference and was unpredictable, as per usual.  A reporter used a hammer and nail reference to explain LSU and Florida’s last few matchups and that set Miles off.  The Mad Hatter did not appreciate the reporter referring to the losing team as the nail and absolutely destroyed...

Les Miles is a goon

Les Miles is just plane weird. Asked if it felt better to be the hammer following LSU's win yesterday against the Florida (LSU was upset by the Gators last year) -- the coach went on a wild eyed, strange 'hammer and nail' tangent.
