College football season is a grind for the players and coaches. 5:00 AM lifts, practices each day, studying game film, studying the playbook — it’s all part of a grueling routine for nearly half of the year. As you can imagine, players often really look forward to bye weeks in the middle of the season, as they provide a chance to decompress mentally, heal physically, and simply get a few rare days off from football.
After Texas A&M beat Mississippi State on Saturday, the Aggies’ bye week was officially under way. In the locker room after the game, head coach Kevin Sumlin gave his players their schedule for the upcoming week, which included some time off. The best part was when he announced that there would be no practice on Saturday this week — the team went absolutely nuts. Here’s video:
