Of all the highly regarded recruits that Charlie Strong has been able to land in his four years at Louisville, Dominique Dishman isn’t one of them.
Dishman, a 6-foot-2 297-pound redshirt sophomore went the nontraditional route. The defensive lineman walked on for the Louisville program after graduating from Lexington’s Paul Dunbar High School in 2011.
Saying that Dishman wasn’t a highly regarded prospect out of high school would be putting it nicely. Scout, Rivals and the 247Sports recruiting databases didn’t even have a profile for the Lexington native.
After a solid spring in 2012, Dishman was listed as the second string defensive tackle behind Roy Philon, but failed to see significant action last season. He played in only one game and failed to make a tackle.
