Let’s face it, bye-weeks really suck. You wait all summer for football season to get started and then after a four week tease, you’re left with two weeks between games. While Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals won’t be taking the field, there is one team that you should be rooting for on Saturday; the Central Florida Knights.
Heading into the season, we knew that Louisville’s schedule wouldn’t feature much competition. There was hope that maybe teams like Rutgers and Cincinnati would play well enough to be ranked in the top 25 when they faced Louisville. Four weeks into the season, Rutgers has a slight chance to be ranked on Oct. 10 when they travel Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, but it isn’t likely. Cincinnati has just one loss on the schedule, but likely won’t face tough enough competition to earn a top 25 vote by season’s end.
