MAC EAST:KENT STATE VS. LIBERTY: Kent State will start the season at home against Liberty. KSU will have no trouble getting on the board. Dri Archer will be huge this season for the Golden Flashes and a potential MAC player of the year. Prediction: KENT STATE 38, LIBERTY 10BOWLING GREEN VS. TULSA: A very good week 1 matchup. Tulsa will be looking to run the ball as much as posible as they were a top 10 team last season running the ball. Bowling Green returns most of their team from last season on both offense and defense. Bowling Green had one of the best defenses in the country last year and look to continue that this year. Prediction: BOWLING GREEN 20, TULSA 14OHIO @ LOUSIVILLE: Louisville may be the favorite to win this game but expect Ohio to keep it close. They pulled off a week 1 win last year at Penn State and they could do it again this year. It will be a game with two great QB's. Tettleton of Ohio passed for over 2,800 yards a year ago and could look for another season like that. Prediction: OHIO 17, LOUISVILLE 31BUFFALO @ OHIO STATE: It will be tough to go into Ohio State and pull off one of the biggest upsets in Ohio States history and college football history. OSU ranked #2 this season and Buffalo comes to town with still a few questions at QB. Buffalo will have a lot of work to do to get on the board. Prediction: BUFFALO 6, OHIO STATE 52MIAMI @ MARSHALL: Miami was known as a passing team last season and I don't see that changing much this season. But they are going up against one of the best passing teams in college football. The Redhawks still have lots of questions about there team coming into this season so this will be a good week 1 matchup with a good C-USA team. Prediction: MIAMI 20, MARSHALL 35UMASS @ WISCONSIN: UMass has to control the ball and win minutes to stay in this game. It will be a very tough game to win. QB Wegzyn is this team so making big plays will be key. Wisconsin has a brand new coach so I expect a few bumps on the way from the badgers. Prediction: UMASS 13, WISCONSIN 41AKRON @UCF: Nowhere to go but up from here for the Zips. Akron will look to make improvments through the season and try to contend in some MAC games this year. UCF is a great team, with a good defnese. Predicition: AKRON 14, UCF 31MAC WEST:NORTHERN ILLINOIS @ IOWA: Lynch back for another season. This is a great week 1 matchup for the Huskies to get revenge on Iowa. The Hawkeyes know that NIU wil use Lynch all they can through this game. Prediction: NORTHERN ILLINOIS 20, IOWA 21BALL STATE VS. ILLINOIS STATE: Ball State is definitly one of the best teams in the MAC and has a good shot at a MAC title. Wenning is one of the best QB's in the MAC as well as the threat of Howard at Running back. Illinois State is a very good 1-AA team that could cause some problems. Prediction: BALL STATE 38, ILLINOIS STATE 20TOLEDO @ FLORIDA: Toledo with a tough top 10 team on the road. Toledo looks to score often but the question is, how will the defense do against an SEC offense? Toledo does mix it up quite a bit between the run and pass but nothing Florida hasn't seen. Prediction: TOLEDO 21, FLORIDA 42CENTRAL MICHIGAN @ MICHIGAN: CMU will enter this game with one very inexperinced QB. Running the ball with Tipton is what CMU will mostly be looking to when playing Michigan. Maybe run a few play actions. Prediction: CENTRAL MICHIGAN 6, MICHIGAN 52WESTERN MICHIGAN @ MICHIGAN STATE: Will either team be able to score? Will the defenses score most of the points in this game? WMU comes into this game with a new coach and new stlye. MSU has had the same style of play for years now but still had problems last year on offense. Defense wins this game easy. Predicition: WESTERN MICHIGAN 13, MICHIGAN STATE 28EASTERN MICHIGAN VS. HOWARD: EMU returns a lot of the offense from a year ago. QB Benz looking for a big year with stand out RB Bronson Hill. Big question for this team this year is if the defense can stop the run. I think Ron English will get EMU back on the right track this year. Predicition: EASTERN MICHIGAN 37, HOWARD 14
