Until last Saturday, Brandon Wilds was a nondescript true freshman tailback for South Carolina, a 6-2, 225-pound three-star prospect from Blythewood (S.C.) High. He had just eight carries for 68 yards in the Gamecocks' first six games. No he's the starter.

South Carolina finished its fall softball season with three wins, taking Friday's contest against Presbyterian 6-1 and sweeping Saturday's doubleheader from Appalachian State 8-2 and 8-6. The Gamecocks ended the fall with a 6-2 record.
