(Photo Courtesy: @KoachC) If the last few months have proven anything, it’s that 2013 may very well go down as college football’s “Summer of the Photoshop.” There, Joker Phillips and the rest of the Florida staff have taken picture cropping to new and uncomfortable levels; #ComePlayWRForTheJoker has become Instagram’s creepiest hashtag, while Brent Pease continues to “Search for a few Top Guns,” even if (based on Florida’s offensive output last year) those “Top Guns” aren’t necessarily seeking out the Gators.   But thankfully for those fans with a bit of an artistic side, the college football photoshop revolution is no longer relegated to just Gainesville. That’s because in an attempt to keep up with the Joneses (or is it the Joker’s!! See what I did there!), Dave Christensen of Wyoming is getting into the picture cropping fun as well! Above, is the latest and to date, greatest attempt by Christensen to get young folks interested in heading to Laramie to play for the Cowboys. After all, who wouldn’t want to come play in an offense that has been compared to a terrible series of action-drama movies starring the dreamy Paul Walker? If you answered “everyone,” you’d probably be correct. Not to mention that while we’re on the subject of “The Fast and the Furious” and creepy photo shops, if Christensen really wanted to catch a recruit’s attention, wouldn’t his best bet have been to photoshop his head onto Vin Diesel’s body? Just some food for thought on a Monday morning. Of course we here at Crystal Ball Run do hold ourselves to the highest moral standards, and because of it, we need to call out Christensen on one thing: While the picture is certainly catchy, it could definitely be described as a bit of “false advertising.” After all, it’s hard to call any offense which 72nd in total offense (at 389 yards per game), 74th in scoring (at 26.8 points per game) or 85th in total plays run (at 852) either “fast” or “furious.” Still, we do give Wyoming an A for effort, even if the execution is a bit flawed. Not to mention that, well, that “All roads lead to the end zone” tagline is pretty catchy as well.   Just one more fun line to come of out of college football’s “Summer of Photoshop.”   For all his insight, opinion and analysis on college football, please follow Aaron on Twitter @Aaron_Torres.
