In the BCS era no one has dominated college football the way Alabama is now. Under Nick Saban the Tide has won three of the last four National Championships, and the one they lost went to cross-state rival Auburn.
Saban's teams have done it with stifling defense. Playing an aggressive 3-4 with a host of future NFL players, they allowed just 10.9 points a game, finishing near the top in every measure of defensive superiority, pass defense, rush defense, red-zone defense. They annihilated opponents, allowing just 250 yards a game, 153 points all season.
Meanwhile, the Ducks gave up 51 to USC and 34 to Arkansas State. It's no wonder that Southern fans chortle and guffaw when the fancy-pants team from the West is mentioned among the game's traditional powers, the majority of whom strap on their forearm pads on their side of the Mason-Dixon line. The South rose again; they just did it with blitzes and 320-pound defensive tackles. The SEC has won the last seven National Cha...

Alabama's coach has his fair share of detractors. And for the most part, they're well-earned. Along with all the hate that comes with winning three national championships in four seasons, the haters come out when you act like this:

Only a handful of players impressed Nick Saban and company over all four days of Alabama's camp this week, and Breidan Fehoko was one of them. The class of 2015 standout from Hawaii told BamaMag.com he wasn't leaving Tuscaloosa without an offer from the champs, and he accomplished his mission Wednesday.
Those who were fortunate enough to have been involved with Alabama football during the Paul Bryant era frequently think about those times in the 1960s and 70s (actually, 1958-82). It is likely those who are a part of the Nick Saban era of Crimson Tide football (2007 and counting) will have similar memories. That’s because the two coaching giants share many of the same, positive characteristics.
Today was the banner day for the SEC Media Days, with three of the biggest coaches in the conference - and college football taking the podium. Sorry, James Franklin of Vanderbilt, we're talking about Alabama's Nick Saban, Georgia's Mark Richt, and the ever-quotable Les Miles of LSU (if he needs further introduction). In an effort to kick things off with a bang, we'...
Over the past five years at Alabama, Coach Nick Saban’s relationship with quarterback AJ McCarron has flourished, and he’s understandably happy to have a fifth-year senior quarterback at the helm. “We have a wonderful quarterback who has developed and become a very good leader on our team,” Saban said at SEC Media Days in Hoover Thursday. added that McCarron’s role could expand.
