Big Ten Network feature on Gerald Holmes

Gerald Holmes is coming off arguably his biggest college game after, which came a day after tragedy struck his family. Another week, another big game for the Michigan State Spartans. This Saturday will see the Wisconsin Badgers come to East Lansing in a battle of not only Big Ten contenders, but potentially College Football Playoff challengers as well. In the meantime, Big Ten...

Gerald Holmes busts off career-long run vs Notre Dame (video)

The Michigan State Spartans dominated Notre Dame for three quarters, and no single play showcased that more than Gerald Holmes’ 73-yard touchdown run. With MSU already up 29-7 in the final minutes of the third quarter, Holmes took a handoff and patiently read his blocks before bursting up field for a career-long run. Michigan State Football: Don’t sleep on Gerald Holmes

Madre London started on opening night. L.J. Scott had the iconic touchdown lunge to send Michigan State to the College Football Playoff. But what about Gerald Holmes? Holmes spent much of the 2015 season as the forgotten man of the Spartans three-headed running back monster, but he was arguably the best all-around performer of the bunch. He finished the season with 540 rushing yards...

Michigan State Football: Penn State film room

Finally, a game that doesn’t involve Spartan fans biting their nails into the late stages of the game.  For probably the first time all year, Michigan State went out and put a hurting on someone and put them away early, allowing fans to spend the fourth quarter making travel plans to Indianapolis.  Lots of fun stuff to choose from this week so let’s get right to it. This first...

It Isn’t The End Of The World

The Ohio State University’s loss to The Spartans of *ichigan State this past weekend in The Shoe 17-14 was devastating. It broke a ton of hearts …. mine included. But in hindsight …. It isn’t the end of the world. The Buckeyes were so ineffective on Saturday’s loss that I have to nominate Warinner & Beck as The Spartans co-MVP’s. The Spartans weren’t bomb-shells...

Can someone give this Michigan State fan a high five?

Vine All this Michigan State fan wanted was a high give after Gerald Holmes scored Saturday to make it 23-7.  And he waited…and he waited…his persistency beat the cameraman’s. SOMEONE GIVE THE MAN A HIGH FIVE! The Spartans won 24-7 and I believe someone finally cashed in this guy’s high five. I’m still awaiting confirmation.

No. 2 Spartans beat CMU 30-10, but injuries mounting

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) Gerald Holmes ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, and No. 2 Michigan State overcame a sluggish performance to beat Central Michigan 30-10 on Saturday. The Spartans (4-0) have scored at least 30 points in a school-record 12 consecutive games, but they did not look particularly good offensively for most of this one. Connor Cook threw for only 143 yards...

Michigan State to begin season with Holmes, London at RB

The Michigan State Spartans are set to open their 2015 season with a Sept. 4 matchup against the Western Michigan Broncos. It is a game that should be an easy win for the Spartans, but more importantly will give them a chance to evaluate their running back position. At this point in time, Gerald Holmes and Madre London listed as co-starters, with both LJ Scott and Delton Williams...
