“The taste is still in our mouths and we want to taste it again." -Ryan Madson on potentially repeating as WFC

The winds have blown postseason baseball back into Philadelphia today as the Phillies are set for a rematch of the 2007 NLDS with the Rockies. As Charlie mentioned in his pregame press conference this morning that he saw a tree branch fall about 30 feet way from him this morning due to the high winds, I also heard what sounded like a gunshot when a huge tree limb fell in my 'hood this morning. The winds are blowing today.

Depending on which way the wind is blowing those Chase Utley warning track shots I mentioned earlier could easily turn into a free trot around the bases. Local weather lady Kathy Orr has said the wind could benefit left handers. Could be a challenging day for Cliff Lee and Ubaldo Jimenez who are set to face off in game one of the NLDS today at CBP.

As the rotation shaped up towards the end of the season, it became fairly clear that Charlie wanted Cliff Lee on the mound for the first pitch of the postseason. Ruben Amaro Jr.'s prized acquisition will be throwing in his first ever playoff game. Phils fans are hoping the good Cliff Lee shows up this afternoon.

Charlie Manuel is going with the regular guys today with Werth batting fifth and Raul sixth. Most people think the Phillies lefty bats match up well against Ubaldo Jimenez. The Phils have hit Jimenez during the regular season to the tune of an 8+ ERA but lost to his Rockies in the '07 NLDS decisive game three.

It's playoff baseball and it's here. Citizens Bank Park should be packed to the gills this afternoon with rabid towel-waving lunatics in red. I'll be one of them.

First pitch is scheduled for the absolutely not work friendly time of 2:37 p.m. It's an absolutely crisp October day, very nice baseball weather if you ignore the wind.

The first step in that second walk down Broad Street starts today. Give us a taste today, just enough to wet our beak a little. Let's go Phils.

I'll be at the game and likely sending updates to Twitter. For those stuck behind a desk, feel free to use the comments to keep each other updated on what's happening. I'd also suggest Justin.tv to find a potential game feed.
