Each day MTRphilly.com will be breaking down the players on the Philadelphia Phillies roster and their non roster invitees. Today we will discuss catcher Carlos Ruiz. Summary:  Carlos Ruiz had the best year of his career in 2012. Unfortunately injuries and a PED suspension have overshadowed his success especially when discussing what the All Star catcher will contribute in 2013. In only 114 games, the 7 year veteran had career highs in hits (121), doubles (32), homeruns (16), RBI’s (68), and batting average (.325). He continues to play stellar defense and pitchers love to pitch to him. Ruiz will begin the 2013 campaign sidelined for 25 games with a PED suspension after testing positive for using an amphetamine. How the 34 year old will perform in 2013 after suffering much of 2012 with plantar fasciitis and the PED suspension remains to be seen. Scouting Report:  Ruiz had a career offensive year in 2012. He has matured as a hitter and has become one of the best offensive catchers in...
