Freddy Galvis exploded on the scene in the beginning of the 2012 season at second base filling in for injured Chase Utley. Galvis had never played second base before but looked natural at the position and showed that he could have a potential gold glove in his future.
The 23 year old struggled to hit through most of his minor league career but showed promise in his short stint with the Phillies. His .226 average leaves much to be desired, but he hit 15 doubles and 3 homeruns and improved as he was getting more at bats. Where he fits in with the 2013 team and how he will recover from his back injury and his PED suspension remains to be seen.
