Bleacher Report:
I couldn't help but follow up on the whole Unsigned Three issue having had time not only to digest a lot of fan conversation but also to hear more discussion by commentators and team officials.
Of course, it must be said that all of us outside the team have insufficient data to state anything definitively. One of the most frustrating things about all this discussion is the absolutist declarations from those who have gone beyond cynicism into full blown fatalism.
I do not know any of they following conclusions to be true, beyond those soundly reported in the media. I'll also qualify these remarks by saying that I am not saying no criticism is warranted. There are several points on which one could raise a valid complaint. I address here only the persistent assumption that the Jays "went cheap" on there draft and thus screwed up for the sake of a relatively small amount of money. So, why did the Jays manage to come to the point where they failed to sign three of their top four picks? We...

Lethal Lansing
Two wins in seven games. It seems relatively typical for the way things are going right now with this organization. One of the wins came in Las Vegas behind David Purcey and the other came behind a big night at the plate for Lansing. Tim Collins took a rare loss in New Hampshire and Dunedin lost a twin bill. Meanwhile, Auburn suffered another loss and the GCL Blue Jays fell apart...
Random Afternoon Video: Do the El Duque!
For any Yankee fan in 1998, this commercial was THE BEST.

Wild Night for the Angels

Las Vegas Does Us Proud
The 51s held on for the win after a nail-biting ninth. Beyond that, more bleakness... and don't even look at the New Hampshire game report if you have a weak stomach.Las Vegas 5 Round Rock 4The 51s offense has struggle a bit in the wake of losing both Travis Snider and Randy Ruiz to the Jays, but the club has reeled off a few good games recently. Big League Brain Fart by Toronto's Cecil
Jason Bay advanced from 1st to 3rd last night in the top of the 4th inning on rookie Brett Cecil's big league brain fart. The score was tied at 1-1 with Bay, who had drawn a walk to lead off the inning, standing on 1st base. After missing wide with a ball, Toronto catcher Rod Barajas weakly threw the ball back to Cecil who missed the catch, walked towards the SS to retrieve the ball...

Buchholz shines as Red Sox beat Halladay, Jays

Yankees: Beware
This is not the same Sox team you swept earlier this month in your house. You're playing in Fenway against a team that has resumed it's winning ways prior to the All Star Game. The Sox just swept the Toronto Blue Jays, always a good team, just in the wrong division. The Sox beat Toronto tonight by a score of 8-1 behind the pitching of Jon Lester and 2 HR's from J.D. Drew...
G119:Clay Buchholz Beats Toronto Blue Jays, Roy Halladay, 6-1
When I spoke to Clay Buchholz a month ago, he told me the key to his season would be getting off to a good start and keeping his composure when things got rough so he could avoid the ‘big inning."
Note to Clay: it helps when the offense scores you a couple of runs, too.
Tonight, it all came together. After back-to-back starts in which he opposed Joba Chamberlain (NYY) and Justin...
