I was surprised to see the Mets cut Duaner Sanchez today. I wasn't totally shocked, but I expected them to wait until closer to the end of spring training. Sure, it would have cost them another $100,000 or so to keep him for another couple of weeks, but for a team with a payroll over $140 ...
