Sons of Steve Garvey:
Orlando Hudson is spending time with inner-city kids in ten cities across the country as part of his "Around the Mound" tour, meeting about 150 kids per stop. That's 1,500 kids over the course of a season (KpS). Good job, O-Dog. And sometimes he brings along special guests, this time at Van Ness Park:
O-Dog, the Kid, Beast Mode.
"Everyone will get a chance to participate! Except you, in the Giants uniform!"
Things that make Juan Pierre smile: getting beaned in the back, cute kids.

The Real Captain Clutch
Okay, so Andre Ethier might not be the captain of the Dodgers, but he has certainly come up big when it matters most. I believe yesterday makes four walk-off hits this year, and when added to the three he had last year, I really can't see anybody in the majors having more walk-off winners than him over that time period. Was it just me or did today's celebration really look...

DODGERS 4, ROCKIES 2 (13)
We're going to let Jim Tracy take this Post-Game Thread. Jim?
Coming back tonight to Dodger Stadium, as a manager of a major league baseball team, was a pretty special feeling for me tonight. Was it the kind of game that I expected to see play out this evening? To answer that question, you've got to ask yourself, "Am I the kind of person...

Adrian Beltre is in the lineup one last time today, but they will have to face the next six to eight weeks -- at least -- without him.
"We'll miss him dearly, and we wish him the best of luck,'' manager Don Wakamatsu said.
Wakamatsu gave same insight into what comes next:
He said he wants to use Ken Griffey Jr. more in the field, if his knee holds up, which he...

What A Train Wreck This Subway Series Has Been At Citi
So far the Subway Series has been a train wreck for the Mets offense.
Imagine if Alex Cora had continued his anemic ways against A.J. Burnett (where did he get that shirt, from Greg Anthony?) and not snapped an 0-21 lifetime with a slap single?
We would have been lamenting about getting no-hit by the former Met, [...]
