The timing of the Duaner Sanchez release is unusual, the Mets had another week before the next installment was due. Wouldn't it have made sense to use that time to see if he came around, especially after the manager and pitching coach went to bat for him publically just the day before. Unless something else is in the works, maybe someone is getting close to signing that lefty...

It appears that the cutting of Duaner Sanchez will save the Mets approx. 1.5 MM which will more then likely be the salary of the two relievers who will replace him.
