Carl Everett Designated for Assignment, Chris Snelling Recalled
Snelling will be in uniform tonight for the Mariners as they take on the Blue Jays. If he starts, expect either a few hits or a torn ACL, possibly both. He hit .370 last year in Triple-A before blowing out his left knee again (which seems to happen as often as Mel Gibson pops his shoulder in Lethal Weapon). Lou Piniella wanted Snelling on his opening day roster in 2001 when he was 19 years old, but he's never been able to stay healthy. Maybe limited time in the OF and starts at DH will help him stay in the lineup.
The Mariners have ten days to either trade or release Carl Everett. 2 Comments On: "Carl Everett Designated for Assignment, Chris Snelling Recalled"
