Thanks for the memories Matt.

As reported by Todd Zolecki and a number of other outlets yesterday, Chan Ho Park, Pedro Feliz, Matt Stairs and Paul Bako have all officially filed for free agency.

Of the four players listed above the one I would most like to see return would be Chan Ho Park in a relief role. My question would be if he seriously wants to pursue a starting gig somewhere else first. He came to Philadelphia with hopes of landing a starting job and although he did win the fifth starter's job in spring he was later moved to the bullpen in favor of JA Happ. Park pitched well out of the bullpen for the team and would be a good asset in relief once again for the Phillies.

We will most likely have seen the final appearances by Bako and Stairsas both aging veteran players offered little offensively or defensively. Stairs will forveer be a legendary figure in this franchise's history though for his NLCS Game Four bomb against the Dodgers in 2008, but the power seemed to fizzle out in 2009. Zolecki suggests that Stairs could return under a minor league deal but there is little chance Bako returns under any circumstance.

The team will likely look for a back-up catcher elsewhere. Remember, Lou Marson is no longer in the farm system as he was traded to Cleveland in the deal for Cliff Lee.
