The Beatles played at Shea twice, on August 15th, 1965, and August 23rd, 1966. 5. The Jets played at Shea from 1964 to '83. 6. Johnny Callison of the Phillies hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the 1964 All-Star game, the only one played at Shea. 7. The Apple was installed for the 1980 season, to coincide with the Mets' "The Magic Is Back" slogan. 8.The Jets played three playoff games at Shea?the AFL championship game in 1968 (the Jets beat the Raiders, 27-23), an AFL divisional game in 1969 (the Chiefs beat the Jets, 13-6) and an AFC wild card game in 1981 (the Jets lost to the Bills, 31-27). 9. Shea Stadium hosted the Mets, Jets, Yankees and Giants in 1975. Yankee Stadium was being renovated, so the Yanks and Giants had to play in Queens. 10. Terry Bradshaw made his final career appearance in the last-ever Jets game at Shea on December 10, 1983. The Steelers beat the Jets, 34-7.
