In the tragic saga of former Cub wunderkind Mark Prior, today’s news, via MLBTR, may be the ending note.   • You sound like a typical Cub fan.....embracing mediocrity and elevating players to elite status BEFORE they've earned it (Gary Scott, etc.). Mark Prior went 42-29. Period. 13 games over .500. WHEN HE PITCHED, his season, avereraged out, was 13-9. Big deal. He won more than 10 games in a season twice. I was more fascinated with Cub fans adoring him than his fastball, curve or slider. I couldn't understand it. Still don't.
