Found December 08, 2008 on Dom D's Mets Fan Blog:
David Lennon of Newsday writes that with all the madness at the Bellagio filled with reporters and curious onlookers there was K-Rod with his family - carrying a stuffed animal (not too manly).

According to Lennon, after he dropped off his family, he was back downstairs chatting with Mets' VP of player development, Tony Bernazard.

When approached by reporters, K-Rod said the Mets told him not to talk about their discussions, so that was that. With various reports surfacing that the team had offered him a three-year deal, SI.com knocked that down to two with an option, which Lennon called crazy.

It's starting to look like what many said, that the Mets will be the only one willing to give him close to what he wants for his services. If K-Rod wants the fourth year option, they should give it to him. Then they can go out and fill their other needs.
