Just a month ago I considered Jon Niese trade bait, but the young left hander made a believer out of me with his impressive numbers in AAA, that converted into three solid major league starts. Reminiscent of Brain Bannister blowing his hamstring out after earning a spot in the rotation as a rookie, Niese blew his out covering first base.
