For the player they dub the man who re-stored credibility to the organization, the Mets are in a very bad place. So far Pedro wants to return and the Mets need starting pitching, if they had another prospect ready they could use him as the excuse. It's going to be very hard for the Mets to not re-sign Pedro, therefore I think it's up to Pedro to gracefully bow out.....Let's face it Pedro has made a lot of money to be the face of the organization without that equating to success on the field. After his 15 win season in his first year, 2005 he's only pitched in 47 games and hasn't won more then 9 games in a season. This year once again Pedro missed a significant portion of the season on the DL and has only started 19 games. Pedro's ERA has ballooned to 5.50 and he's lucky to make it through five innings, in his 19 starts this year only six were considered quality starts.
