If all goes well, Aramis Ramirez will be back with the Cubs on Monday when they open a 3-game series against the Atlanta Braves. Ramirez is going to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the Peoria Chiefs and get about 10 or 12 at-bats. If he doesn’t have a setback, he’ll most likely be in the lineup Monday night. Don’t expect Ramirez to be the offensive player he’s capable of being for a week or so. He’s been out a long time and 3 games isn’t going to be enough action to get him ready for game speed, but hopefully his presence will have an impact on some of the others.

Cubs vs. Brewers to the DEATH!

We have the big holiday weekend coming up and the big four-game series to go with it. The Milwaukee Brewers lead the NL Central by a game over the St. Louis Cardinals and 3.5 up on our Cubs. The Brewers are fourth in the NL in runs scored...the Cubs 15th. On the flip side, they are 10th in Runs Allowed and the Cubs are third. As the saying goes, something has to give... As you...

Cubs won't win World Series until they clean house

This is not about a billy goat, a Bartman, or some new Century Club Curse hanging over the Chicago Cubs. Yes, the Cubs haven't won a World Series in over 100 years now, but it's no longer about a lack of talent or a propensity to choke. Everybody wants to bury the Mets this week for their underachieving ways, but at least their struggles can be largely related to their lineup that...

Baker was used as a utility infielder last year, amassing a career-high .268/.322/.468 line in 333 plate appearances, appearing mostly at second and first with some time at third and in the outfield. It's unknown what the return will be.
