Hank Blalock has struggled at the plate. That's clear. He's batting below the Mendoza line in August and was the only Ranger without a hit on Monday. It is important to note that his defense has been solid. But, right now this club isn't getting much offensive production from first base (an issue with Chris Davis earlier this season). It seems like he needs a day or two off, so maybe the Rangers could move David Murphy or Andruw Jones over there to give him a spell. But you are giving up too much defensively to do that often.
