With talk swirling of Bobby Abreu possibly signing with the Mets, and
Manny Ramirez's future destination, I felt the need to make a final
case for a free agent who's name generally hasn't been associated with
the Mets. Today, I decided to sit down and write a letter to our team's
general manager, Omar Minaya (and by write a letter to Minaya, I mean
post a blog on MetsMerized and hope he would find it), on this very

that I'm not your biggest fan. As a matter of fact, after last season I
openly called for your firing. Despite our checkered history, I'm
willing to let bygones be bygones, forget your shortcomings as Mets GM,
and move onto the here and now. That is, if you sign Adam Dunn. I know
the very mention of his name may send chills down your spine, but give
me a moment to explain how this move would vastly improve the shape of
this team for both the present and future.

Mets getting close to signing Oliver Perez
According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Mets seem closer than ever to retain Oliver Perez. The Mets are pushing to give Oliver 3 years plus a 4 year vested option.
Perez, 27, was 25-17 with a 3.91 ERA the past two seasons with the Mets. He would rejoin lefty Johan Santana and righties John Maine and Mike Pelfrey in the team's rotation.

If seeing is believing, than you have got to check this out.
A Johan Santana baseball card recently sold on eBay for $305.00. No it wasn't his rookie card, and no it wasn't even signed.
What made this card so special was the inscription on the bottom. Take a good look at it.

Upside vs. Negativity vs. Reality
As we hit the month of February, still many questions have yet to be answered. We can all speculate as to who might be wearing New York Mets pinstripes, what might become of some of the new acquisitions, and how the boys from Queens will fare at Citi Field this season. As the excitement builds [...]
It's officially baseball season to me
With the Steelers thrilling win last night, football season is over, which opens the door for baseball to take over my mind.February
is typically the most boring month of sports, but with pitchers and
catchers reporting in 11 days, I'll take what I can get.
