So Close

The past week has been pretty tough to go through. Being my second year, it was quite an experience. Getting so close, and watching it just slip from your fingers. You got to give Colorado their credit, they got the big hits when they were needed. Matt Holliday had an unbelieveble series, and the rest of their team as well.

We are still going to finish out the season strong, and play the game right. We're going to go out and try to win every series we can that we have left. Just like you try to do every week.

It seems like the norm for LA in the past dew seasons. Growing up in LA, we have become accustomed to the Dodgers playing well early and then tapering off in the end. A better run this season, and a great job by you. Now we gotta root for the Halos.

Spell check..."past few seasons."

As a Dodger fan I am sick of saying, there is always next year.

This is what happens when Matt Kemp is not in the starting lineup every day...

I would love to see all the young guys (Kemp, Ethier, Hu, Laroche, etc.) starting a lot more now. What do we have to lose, except that they get some experience? Apparently, kent thinks otherwise though...

Ethier should definitely start every day. And Chad, $10 says you make the playoffs if you post those masquerade pics by 9AM Sunday morning.

another thing...please sweep the Giants and "accidentally" throw a high fastball at Barry's supersized head so he has to retire....or maybe even go blind and become a vegetable, i dunno, just make it happen.

You guys are still have a young nucleus. I expect a playoff run next year from this team.

Good season Bills. good to hear you guys are still gonna go out there and try to win. a nice sweep of the g-nats to close out the season will at least let us go into the offseason on a fairly good note.

Dodger fans need to stay positive. I for one belive in the Dodgers!

No worries, sure it's disaponting, but you guys had a great season! It dosen't matter if we start of strong and then falter at the end, or start the season horribly and then start to come back towards the end .It all comes down to the same thing, how well you have played throughout the year. At least we were in the race for a while. And in baseball anything can happen, we could still make it. This team has come a long way, and many players have gainded valuble playing time. Thank God that there IS a next year. Everyone better watch out for the Dodgers next year, because we now have one of the best teams in baseball. If you are a real Dodger fan you cant wat 'till next year! You played great!

Yeah bro, post the masquerade photos. That will lighten things up a little around here.
I was really surprised to hear Kent's comments earlier this week. All this time I thought that everyone was getting along well together. I remember there were articles about how good it was having Gonzo and Ethier playing together, since Ethier idolized Gonzo. And you'd think many of the young guys like Loney and Abreu and Kemp would feel good learning from Kent and Nomar, two great players.
There's no doubt that Ned C. needs to reevaluate the clubhouse chemistry and get a good balance. We had a lot of young guys and a lot of old guys, but no middle aged players, which I thought hurt. You have to bridge the gap. I work in an office full of college students and I can't see eye-to-eye with any of them, but when I got some coworkers to work with me who were older than I was, I had someone to relate to more, and then in the eyes of the youngsters, I wasn't the old fart anymore. I dunno. I just would rather have a team that gets along and loses a ton of games, then a team that cannot respect each other, and just barely misses the playoffs.

Agreed, You youngins give us plenty to look forward to.
Here's hoping Grady and co. keep you around.
For the rest of the season, Go HALOS!

I HATE THE ANGELS! BOOO ANGELS, GO A-ROD!

I don't know what you were thinking today when Grady came to pull you but you're face made it kind of obvious you were thinking "You're kidding me right?"

Hopefully you guys get some better management next season.

Great start yesterday, Chad, once you had settled down after the 1st. I have to say it was brave of Grady to fill out the rest of the starting lineup with the guys 25-and-younger (except for Pierre.) But the results were what the Dodgers needed right now.

brave? These games don't mean a whole lot. It would have been brave if he put that lineup out a couple weeks ago, but not now. That was a great game though. We got to see a taste of what the future has in store for us. Looked good!!!

Bills,
Would it make any difference to you if you were named the teams no. 1 starter next year or the no.3?
Broc,
Victorville, CA

nice game today.

hey bills how bout them irish?! 0-4? haha GO BUCKS!!

I hope you respond to these posts
I am bumming about this year but I hope you finish strong . You young guys help me stay optomistic. Which makes me wonder, what is up with all the Old Guys vs. YoungGuy talk? You young guys would have so much pressure if the old guys had showed up this year! Stay positive Bills!

This seems to be a reoccuring theme with the Dodgers and as a fan it is disappointing but like every other Dodger fan on here, I know that we have a very young and talented guys waiting for their chance to play and I for one think it's about time to let them loose. It was unfortunate for us this year when the starting rotation began to go down due to injuries but hopefully next year we have better luck in the injury department. I would cheer for the Halos if they hadn't switched their name, the only Los Angeles team that there is, is the Dodgers plain and simple. I hate that Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim crap, they are and will always be just the Anaheim Angels.

Chad,
You guys gave it your best shot and it just didn't turn out the way you and all of us Dodger fans wanted. But I for one enjoyed watching you guy this year, and I especially enjoyed watching you pitch. Get 'em next year. Go Blue!

Chad!!! So are we ever going to get to see pictures of you guys dressed in costumes??

tough way to end a season....hope you are the opening day starter next season.

hey chad...I love the way you play the game...you're young and talented so stay positive and things will work out....its going to turn around just watch....
