PLAYERS: Jim Thome
TEAMS: Chicago White Sox

While dining at the Capital Grille in Chicago, several unidentified members of the team apparently decided to introduce Patti LaBelle and her friends (who were eating at a neighboring table) to some parental advisory caliber words. Thankfully, Sox slugger Jim Thome was also in the group, and he helped diffuse the situation by apologizing for his teammates introducing Ms. LaBelle to words commonly used by the likes of the Insane Clown Posse and 2Pac.

  • Patti Labelle looks like she could still mix it up a little. I don't know if he was involved, but if he was, she should have bitchslapped AJ.
  • I dont understand why this article is claiming that the White Soxs dont like Patti Labelle. The whole team wasn't there first of all, and no player that was there didn't say they didnt like her. They all later apologized for their disrespectful actions.
  • I don't actually think the White Sox dislike Patti LaBelle. I'm fully aware that the players there, minus Thome, probably didn't even know who she was or that she was there. I just find it to be an absurd circumstance, that they were there drinking and swearing and of all people Patti LaBelle happened to be one table over. The title and article were written tongue-in-cheek; it wouldn't have been nearly as absurd if it was just some random person (rather than a famous singer) sitting next to the players.
