Rally’s bottom 10 in TotalZone:
1. Michael Cuddyer, RF, -26
2. Bobby Abreu, RF, -25
3. Vernon Wells, CF, -19
4. Gary Matthews Jr., CF, -17
5. Alberto Callaspo, 2B, -16
6. Orlando Cabrera, SS, -16
7. Lastings Milledge, LF, -16
8. David Wright, 3B, -15
9. Carlos Lee, LF, -14
10. Miguel Tejada, SS, -14
Rally updated these with park factors (scroll down to the comments) and Abreu was -9. Just to show that TotalZone isn’t the only defensive metric that thinks Abreu still sucks at fielding baseballs, there are some other metrics below.
UZR: -9.9
RZR: .873 (2nd to last among qualified right fielders)
OOZ: 36 (2nd to last)
Dewan’s +/-: -10 (runs)
So we’re talking about a fielder who was -10 runs while being better defensively than in year’s past. He’s also older. If Wrigley’s RF is really tougher than other parks, imagine how awful he’d be as a Cub. He had somewhat of a bounce-back year, but the Cubs would be wise to stay away from him once again.

The Angels' Tragicomedy
Only one region of these United States didn't want the Los Angeles Angels to get to the World Series, and it had a marvelous time by way of Yankee Stadium Sunday night. And why not, asks SC's Jeff Kallman? How often do you get to see live slapstick in the House That Ruthless Built?
Gary Matthews Jr. Wants Out
When the Angels handed Gary Matthews Jr. a five-year, $50MM contract prior to the 2007 season, the team figured it was getting an elite centerfielder that played Gold Glove defense and hit .300+ like he did in his final season in Texas. Instead, the Angels brought Torii Hunter on board just one season later, and Matthews has been a part-time player ever since.
With two-years...
