Found September 14, 2009 on Chicago Cubs Online:
According to a report from Bruce Levine Sunday afternoon, "the team will most likely explore deals for outfielder Milton Bradley and starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano" this off-season. Bob Nightengale from USA Today mentioned on ESPN 1000 Friday night that he could see the Cubs trading Milton Bradley to the Texas Rangers this winter, with the Cubs eating half of his remaining contract. So are Milton Bradley and Carlos Zambrano's days on the North Side numbered?

Ken Rosenthal Says Cubs Could Trade Carlos Zambrano

According to MLBTR, Ken Rosenthal said the Cubs could trade Zambrano this offseason in a recent video on foxsports.net I have to ask, who is running the team? Is it the media and fans or is it Tom Ricketts, Crane Kenney, and Jim Hendry? I’d like to think it’s the latter, but that would basically mean Ken Rosenthal is making **** up. That’s entirely possible...

Cubs to shop Zambrano in offseason?

According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs plan to shop starter Carlos Zambrano this winter. Despite the fact that Zambrano has a full no-trade clause, the Cubs plan on shopping him this off-season, sources said, believing he’ll waive the clause to go to the right team, as Jake Peavy eventually did when the [...]

Bruce Miles Makes Sense

Bruce Miles on the rumors the Cubs are shopping Carlos Zambrano: Anyway, if the Cubs are indeed “shopping” Carlos Zambrano (and people in the Cubs’ baseball operations department say that information is not coming from them), they better be thinking things through. First off, why would you want to trade Zambrano? Sure, he’s a knucklehead, but he’s been a pretty effective...

Cubs Plan on Shopping Zambrano

This season has been one of immense disappointment for the Chicago Cubs. They were expected to cruise to their third consecutive division title in what was perceived as a weak NL Central in 2009, but with a few weeks remaining in the season they find themselves 9.5 games behind the Cardinals and 6.5 games out of the wild card.Cubs ace Carlos Zambrano has had his part in failing to meet

Cubs to be stupid this winter

MLBTR quotes the piece of **** Paul Sullivan who says the Cubs plan to shop Carlos Zambrano this winter. Ken Rosenthal reported this first so it does appear to be legitimate. I have no idea why the Cubs would do this. Zambrano is owed a lot of money and given the ****** economy, it’s not like they’re going to get a lot in return. I was asking myself the other day...

Report: Cubs will shop Zambrano this winter

Sources have informed Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune that the Cubs plan to shop Carlos Zambrano this offseason.

Hey, Stoney, Have You Seen Alex Rios Play?

Steve Stone is a bitter old man who is blindly angry at his former employer because he believes he - and only he - can do every job in the organization better than anyone else. We've seen this in his obsessive Tweeting about Milton Bradley (detailed here and here). Bradley has had a tumultuous season to be sure, though Stone mostly hits him for his relatively modest RBI totals...

Zambrano yanked again but Cubs win 13-7

Zambrano has awful 5th inning but offense saves him The untapped potential of Carlos Zambrano has left three Cubs managers scratching their heads over the last eight years.

Gamecast: September 15th vs. Brewers

Yovani Gallardo (12-11, 3.59 ERA) vs. Carlos Zambrano (8-6, 3.77 ERA) Story Lines The Cubs almost had a perfect night last night. They found a way to win without much office, the Giants lost, but the Cardinals out-slugged the Marlins (which wasn't all bad, since the Cubs trail the Marlins in the Wild Card). The Cubs are 6.5 games back in the Wild Card with 20 games left. That...

Odds & Ends: Royals, Zambrano, Pujols

Time for some afternoon links... Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star would like to hear Royals GM Dayton Moore admit he was wrong to think his team could contend this year. Aaron Gleeman of NBC Sports argues that Carlos Zambrano is simply not an $18MM pitcher anymore, let alone a pitcher clubs would give up worthwhile players to acquire. No argument from me on that...

Bob Verdi: Cubs need Cards' genius with arms, Duncan

It's 2-for-1 in hurting rival St. Cardinals while helping yourself How do you fix Carlos Zambrano? How long does a lobotomy take? Probably longer than 10 minutes, which is about how long it took for John Smoltz to get straightened out.

Lotz and Lotz of Patience - Cubs 13 Brewers 7

Game One Hundred Forty-Three - Cubs 13 Brewers 7 WP - Aaron Heilman (3-3) LP - Yovani Gallardo (12-12) Save - None For one of the few times this year the Cubs patience at the plate led to a win. The Cubs walked a season-high 12 times and the Brewers pitching staff hit three batters ... including Aramis Ramirez in the sixth with the bases loaded that forced in the...
