Michael Kay just announced during tonight's broadcast that the Yankees have acquired Chad Gaudin from the Padres for a player to be named later. In 20 games (19 starts) for the Padres he was 4-10 with a 5.13 ERA. In 105.1 innings he's allowed 60 ER on 105 hits, walked 56 (too many) and struck out 105.Not really sure how this helps, although he was a pretty solid reliever for the A's last year before going to the NL. He may be a better option than Mitre. Oh, and he's also gonna have to shave whatever that is growing from his chin.

Meet Chad Gaudin

With Sergio Mitre not impressing, the Yankees made a deal with San Diego for Chad Gaudin. Gaudin's probably best known for his 2007 season in Oakland, where he pitched 199.1 innings with an ERA+ of 95, which is around average for a starter.
