ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Alex Cobb threw his second bullpen session Monday in his continued recovery from a mild concussion.
The Tampa Bay Rays right-hander said he felt 10 times better off the mound compared with the last time he threw Friday, though he added there was not much difference in his condition while throwing 47 pitches in the latest session because last time felt great to me. He said he plans to throw another bullpen session Friday, and though a timetable from the team is unknown, Cobb said he hopes a late Julyearly August return is possible.
The timeline is obviously getting shorter for me, and thats exciting, Cobb said.
Cobb, 25, was placed on the concussion disabled list June 16 after a line drive off the bat of the Kansas City Royals Eric Hosmer struck him on the right ear June 15. He said he is still dealing with vertigo, but he added the condition has become immeasurably better the past two days.
