The last time the Phillies were playing was Friday night. They managed to squeeze across a few late runs to pull out a 3-2 win on a walk-off single by Nate Schierholtz.
If you didn't know any better, you'd think you were watching a replay of that game this afternoon. That's how similar the two games were.
Once again, the Rockies jumped out to an early lead. After a scoreless first inning from Cole Hamels, the Rockies scored a couple of two-out runs on singles by D.J. LaMahieu and Tyler Chatwood.
Just like on Friday, that was all the Rockies could manage off of Hamels. He lasted seven innings allowing two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out six.
The Phillies didn't take as long to manage the hit that tied it. Once again, it was a two-run double. This one was off the bat of Ryan Howard, scoring Hamels and Chase Utley all the way from first.
